Beginner Trumpet

I've been on several forums and by far this group of guys seem to be the most knowledgable of turkey calls and turkey call makers.That being said I thought I would ask if anyone could suggest a trumpet call or trumpet call maker that makes a resonably priced call to try to learn on.I really don't want to throw down any big bucks til I see if I can even run one.Several years ago I had a bout with Belles Palsy and it messed with my kisser a bit so I may not even get a sound from one.Thanks in advance for the help and suggestions.Todd

Sanatorium makes a fantastic trumpet with prices ranging around forty dollars and up.  *up*

I would say to try one of Tim Clayton's trumpets if you want it to keep reasonably priced for your first.  I know I have one and I can speak for his and their value.  Don't think you'll be disappointed.

I third the Clayton recommendation. 

Just received my first from Tim and she sure does sing!

Tim makes some great calls including boxes, pots and trumpets.

You have a couple of good choices already......I would suggets Ralph Permar as another fine callmaker with great calls!

Ralph is a fine callmaker as well!

I have 1917 and model 45 trumpets from him that are excellent.

If we are talking $150 plus calls like Ralph's, I would add Matt Mcclain, Frank Cox, Herb Hornstra, Frank Hiegler, Billy Buice to the list as excellent trumpet call makers (I am sure there are others but these are ones I have experience with).

For $50 I think Tim is one of the best out there.

Thanks guys for all the imput.I ordered a trumpet from Tim a few weeks ago and he PM'd me a couple days ago and said it was in the mail.I should get it tomarrow or Tues.Can't wait! *dance*

You will not be disappointed, Tim makes a great call and is a super nice guy to deal with as well!

Well guys you were right.I recieved the call from Tim today and I must say I'm very pleased with it.As I stated earlier this is my first trumpet but already feel as if I'm getting the hang of it.Thanks again guys for pointing me in the right direction.I'll try to post a picture sometime in the near future.
