Salvaged Osage
« on: February 23, 2010, 08:10:29 PM »
This potcall was made by my very good friend Jon "Petie" Ross of Kentucky.  I brought home a 2 foot log from IL a few years back while I was there bowhunting.  My friend that lives out there burns the Osage for heat. *wha*
I sent some to Petie and he made this 8 sided potcall that is slate/slate.  The color is a beautiful honey tone.  The strikers are Osage from that log, I don't remember the Spalted wood, and the other is Amandan Padauk.

If I had more room in the truck to fit it, I would have brought back the whole pile. Maybe I'll get some more this year if he hasn't burned it all.  :o

Dave.

That is not acid burned...it's the Osage in it's natural state.  It was beautiful...I should have taken more of it.  *cry*
