Snow in Louisiana

It started last night about 8:00 pm with some sleet mixed in, and then this what we woke up to this morning.  About 5" on the ground and still snowing.  Our whole family stayed with us last night because school was canceled for today and we had a birthday party for our two grand daughters who live nearby, and our younger son, his wife and our grandson have been here from South Carolina.  Kids and grandkids all playing in the snow this morning.  Can't beat that!!  Especially since the last time we saw snow like this was over 20 years ago.

I am doing some work at the Cabela's in Gonzales this week/weekend and thought I was escaping the snow we had in Ohio. We didn't get any accumulation in Gonzales, but I sure was surprised to see snowflakes when I headed to the store this morning. The weather sure put a damper on my plans to go fishing tomorrow though...

 We were just a little to far south to get that much....... snow here has already melted...... *cry*

 But......on a good note, my shift relief was able to cross the mississippi river, and I could go home.....  ;D

What kind of work at Cabelas brings you all the way down to Gonzales?  There ain't nothin' around Gonzales but swamps.

LOL. Yup. Lots of water around here. I am a manufacturers' rep to Cabela's. I am here doing some Shimano training and helping the guys out on the floor.

We're not prepared to deal with it like you are Matt, both from an individual and a municipality perspective.  I don't think it got below 32 today, and the roads are now dry and it's melted out of the trees.  Now its just a mess.  It's going to shut down anything that has to roll on bare ground, such as logging, for several days.  Nice for a day or two.

George, wish you were a fly rod or reel rep. LOL  that's my other habit now.

Too bad I'm on the other end of the state.

Now that is beautiful.  I'd go crazy not having snow every year.  I love it so much.  I was probably raised and born in the wrong state though.  I wish we got a lot more of snow here. 

If it wasnt' for turkey hunting, I'd rather it be cold year round!
