One sider

Here is something a little different, a Gibson style one sider prototype. I am pleased with the way this came out,although I think I will make a minor change on the off side, not really sure right now. The box is mahogany, the paddle was a piece from the scrap box as it had some knots, but it still plays well. I don't use the best wood for experiments, I have learned it isn't always a good idea,LOL.

I like it Dave.  I would prefer to see the thumb groove in the middle of the off-side instead of up front.  In my experience it's easier to position your thumb and have better control of the call and to make better, more realistic sounding cutts, clucks and putts that way. JMO

Lou, I do think it would be better a little further forward, that's why I am looking for some critiques. I was thinking maybe an inch or so towards the front, and then have it come back up and die into the slope of the back end of the call.

Dave that thing is sweet looking.  I got to hear this over the phone and it plays really good.  Has a distinct rollover on it too!

I did think you mis-spoke when you said Gibson one sider, but now I see you hadn't gone mad...

That looks cool!  Great job man!

Mike, I worked on it some more for quite a while after you heard it, and it is sounding more to my liking now.
As far as me being mad, I think the jury is still out on that one, lol,,,,, ROTFLMBO
