Ok I've made some changes to PMs and most people this should not affect.

What I've done is two things!

First off, I've made it where you can only send a PM to two members at once right now.  This might be too restrictive and if so, please let me know!

Secondly, I've made it where when PM'ng you will have to enter some code (letters that are displayed) until you have 10 posts.  It's not real hard and I think it's a good in between from stopping what happened today.  I may change this and make it where you have to have one post before you can PM.

Let me know what you think and I'm working on installing some spam software to check if the users are coming from a known spam site!

Seems simple, and fair enough.  It's a good idea that can always be modified if/when needed.

Well unfortunately after all my changes, another ForumSupport member signed up and sent out some PM's again.

I've changed the Registration right now and I'll keep my fingers crossed that this works.

I hate having to be so restrictive, but we are not the only forum getting bombarded by this.  I'm researching it and we may move software to combat this!

I have often wondered what type of person would/could sit at a computer and maliciously send out emails with viruses attached? What is the motivation? What is the goal? Where did the desire come from? When I got my undergrad in Psychology PC's were in their infancy stages. This wasn't someone we profiled. I would love to have one in a controlled environment for a week or so. Man some sick puppies in this world!
