I need a truthful assestment on the design for a new trumpet.  I have changed the ferrule design and added a spot for a laynard.  If you have ideals let me know.  If you want to PM me.  Just looking for input.  I didn't like the other ferrules and after a freind told me the same thing it was or is time to revamp.  What do ya'll think about this one.

I like that ferrule much better. The design is unique. It is very nice. It is just taking time to fully appreciate the quality.

I like the design.  However, I would get rid of that particular brass band all together or come up with a  different ferrule accent. I think it detracts from the beauty of the call. Everything is looks good though. IMO

Maybe instead of the brass you could leave it just the wood but taper from top to bottom so it looks like a bullet.  Just an idea.

I like that design, but what would it look like if the ferrule transition to the mouth piece?  That might be the only thing I'd change.

Guess what I'm looking for is a fancy ferrule that I can come off of with a the mouthpeice being wider at the bottom then tapering as it goes up.

Richard,
Much better. ;)  I agree with Porter... Find a way to flare the bottom of the mouth piece out even or flush with the top of the brass ferrule as to hide where the mouth piece enters the wood at the ferrule.  Hope that makes sense.  Other than that, I think you've got her buddy ;)  Polish the brass up nice and maybe even turn in some small accent rings on the brass to dress it up.  Great work buddy.----Jason
