Never fell off the bike
« on: September 01, 2020, 08:49:26 AM »
Well, it certainly has been a long time, but as I discovered a few months ago I was able to climb back aboard my bike and still ride...this was a fun project.  As you know, I have all but retired from wood burning, but this was a well past due project for a good friend and during recovery from major surgery and the Covid virus shutdown, it was the perfect fit....  Don't know if posting the pic worked...but here goes nothing.

Guess I should add, this was a special set to display and honor the 4 major sub species of the Wild Turkey, from top to bottom you see the Eastern with Gobbler and hen, the gobbler quite frustrated with her across the creek...next Merriams Gobbler as he calls out from his Ponderosa Pine perch looking for company in the early morning...next Rio Grande, Gobbler, hen and Jake near an old homestead as the Gobbler not so sublty lets the jake know his company is not welcome and last...Osceloa, with a Gobbler and 2 hens set in a Oak Hammock.  The calls were built by a very skilled and award-winning callmaker, Mr FLK III.
