Austin Bott adjustable trumpet in bocote
« on: August 31, 2020, 03:25:49 PM »
Received this late summer 2019. It was a project between Zumer here on Osage Roost, Mr. Austin Bott and I. What we came up with is this incredibly well tuned fully adjustable trumpet in sweet, sweet bocote.

For those who aren't familiar with Mr. Bott's design, the trumpet barrel and ferrule slide to adjust the tone of the trumpet call. It is an amazing design and sounds incredible. This trumpet takes so very little air to run and will have home in my spring and fall turkey vest for many, many years to come. Has all the range a hunter could ever want, and tunes to fit the user's ear. That makes turkey call magic.

Looking for a hunting call that looks and sounds awesome, Austin Bott fits the need perfect. Being able to sound like multiple birds with one yelper, that's way too cool, especially in the fall season.

I added one of Tony Ezolt's lanyards as shown below, and I think that suits it just perfectly. Simply an incredible trumpet call.

I don't have one of Austy's trumpets.  That needs to change.
Zumer knows a lot about trumpets and was instrumental in helping me learn to run them.

Me too Steve. I was his young Jedi apprentice for several years there as well. He was very patient with me, my trumpet learning curve was rather long, but way worth it in the end. Besides a quality long box, give me a quality trumpet. Two favorite calls.

Nice pick up. Congrats on the new yelper. Bott is seriously underrated for his trumpets. The more I play his adjustable, the more turkeys I find in it. The versatility is killer.

Nice piece of blackwood. Cool grain in it topped with the white tip.
