I don't have one to share but, I've heard a few that sounds great. Depends on what body material you use Teak makes great lid material. Don't be shy to give it a try...  RkLu

Got a hen box from Richard Hudson in that combo that's a great sounding call.

Yep!  One of the best hen boxes in teak I've ever heard was topped with snakewood by Mr. Hudson.  Wish I had a sound file for ya!  Heck, wish I had the call to make ya a sound file!   :D

Teak and snakewood does make one of the best combo for a hen box. IMO. Give me a call and I have one I haven't sent out yet I can run one for you. 931-627-9178 Richard

Yea that has to be on my wish list and I have heard Ole Porter run his and it sounds awesome.  I have heard nothing but great compliments about Richards Hen box calls. Heard them in Nashville a couple of years ago too!

Steve Turpin should have one.  I have made several in my Shortboxes with Teak that I got from Steve.  In my Shortboxes, I like walnut as well as the Teak for the sound.  Not much difference in the yanka hardness of the two.  All in how you tune it in my opinion.  Mr. E
