Actually, the Fencepost call was built by Cecil Fry and Walter Winterbottom coined the name pf Cecils call. Neil Cost fashioned his call after a longbox built by Walter Winterbottom . Walter also traded with Neil twice. Walter built several different styles of longboxes . But tje design that Neil went with is very similiar in design and dimensions.
The original longbox turkey call was built by sustenance hunters in Missouri's Ozarks. It was most always cedar over cedar. They were not as long as a Winterbottom call but had an integrated handle. And were usually hand carved.
