Bearded Hen
« on: December 08, 2016, 11:12:56 AM »
I've heard of bearded hens but didn't think they had a rope hanging.  This lady has been coming through my yard with a winter flock of 20 to 30 hens.  She's the only one with a beard.  I've killed gobblers with thinner beards than this.  I'm going to have a hard time not dropping the hammer on her next spring.

About 30 seconds after I shot my fall bird in Ohio last year, a double bearded hen came in. She had 2,  6+ inch beards. And i had no tag to put on her so she got a pass that day.
