Thanks for the compliments guy. Yeah its been a busy few weeks in the shop and will continue to be as I'm working on a special project. Yeah Scott, I've been using Chestnut a lot over the past few years. I got my hands on some really nice barn beams that have beautiful patina and make some awesome calls. Chestnut is a funny wood, some that I've gotten that looks good is really soft and brittle. This stuff has a deep golden color and has some great sound in it.
And yes, that Macacauba is tough to find, which is why I bought all of it I could find several years ago after entering a few calls in Nationals with it

It does make some awesome calls for sure. I did a paddle call as a set to accompany the short box. When I get around to cutting some of it up, I'll let ya know....maybe I can spare a few pieces
