Cocobolo and Zebra Wood pots.

 Built this Cocobolo, glass over slate for myself and the Zebra Wood, glass over slate for my youngest son, to hunt with this Spring. Having fun building these babies!!   *up* *up*

   bill,  when you condition your glass, do you just pick any spot to rough up  or do you know ahead of time where to rough up??? I also just started to make pot calls and i'm learning how to make them.. is there a need to do the whole piece of glass or just do wha you have been doing??? does it make a different??  chris

I've been doing it on the top side, above where I sign the call. Only reason is the buyer can see who made it. I Tried roughing them up all the way a round and really haven't seen where it makes a difference in sound. Also tried etching the glass with chemicals but have found it doesn't do as good a job as using a stone. It can be much neater etched but I want the owner to hear the best turkey sound as possible.
