Finally getting some shop time.
« on: January 15, 2016, 04:38:21 PM »
Here are a few of some long promised calls that I am getting some shop time to work on. After 2 surgeries, I can finally see to do the work that these carved boxes require!  God answers prayers!   Thanks Mr. E

Mike, The two lower left boxes are your Turpin and Striblings "Magnolia" boxes.  I will bring them to Nashville for you see before they go to Kelly.  I have already talked to her, and she will get with you later.  On an interesting note, Magnolia is our state tree here in Ms. and illegal to cut one down.  Tom Crook got me some beautiful trunk pieces that he air fried from a tree that went down in a storm near his home in Hately, Ms.  Looking Good!!!

Mr E glad your back in the shop and feeling better. Some turkey hunters are going to be very happy with your calls.  You make them sound full of turkey even make Yankee versions too!

That sounds great John. I appreciate both you and Tom making this a possibility. Kelly's touch and your boxes will make a super set of calls.

Looks like you literally have your work cut out for you, John!  Glad your sight has been restored!
Jeff made a long box for me from that magnolia and it goes out west with me each spring.  I know your calls will surely be killers!  Congratulations to Mike!

PS  Gail brought Nina a cook book with some of Karen's recipes in it this week and we will probably be trying some of them soon!
