The Grizwalds tour the US (pic heavy)
« on: June 13, 2015, 03:54:11 PM »
My wife and I just got back from vacation. We went to Mission, TX, where my nephew is a Border Patrol. Spend a couple of days there. Left there and went to White Sands, NM. We spent a day there browsing around. Left from there and went to the Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest in Arizona. Made our way to the Grand Canyon and from there to Las Vegas. You won't find any pictures from Las Vegas because as far as I'm concerned, the Grand Canyon could go ahead and swallow America's whorehouse up. My wife wanted to go because of all the spas they have there. We then started the l..o..n..g journey back to Georgia.

Bob, the biggest thing was those darn censors on the tires....going from cold to hot and back to cold again. They kept indicating low air pressure. Guess it's a Toyota thing....ahummmm Jeff!!  ;D

Matt, it was worth seeing! Now Las Vegas, if the GC wanted to swallow it up would be fine with me.

You know the strangest thing about the Grand Canyon was that no one visiting spoke English. It was either Chinese( guess they were looking at their investment) or French. I said some thing to two young women that were sitting on a big crack in a rock, they acted like they didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about. They started talking and I realized....they didn't!

Another thing was we walked into the gift shop there and a guy asked "where are y'all from". We told him and he says, "yep, I recognized the accent. He was from Valdosta, GA, about 3 hours from home. He said he and his wife work at the state parks all over the US. They would work for a few months there, then move on to a different one! I may look into that when I retire in about 20 more years!
