A Great Friend
« on: April 14, 2015, 02:30:06 PM »
I had one of nicest fellows, come hunt with me the first few days of our VA Spring gobbler season. Arnie Jonathan or AJ as most of you know him, is one of my best friends. I met Arnie many years ago at the NWTF nationals and we hit it off, immediately. He has come down several times to hunt Bear and Deer but I finally got him here for a turkey hunt. And, what a hunt we had. Gobblers were everywhere! The first day turned out very windy but the birds were gobbling good on the roost. Once they hit the ground, it was a different story. Talk about tight lipped! We finally connected on a nice two year old at 8:40 in the morning. He came in silent and caught me facing the wrong way but AJ dropped him at 15 yards. 22 lbs. 10 1/2" beard and 1 inch spurs.
