New audio recorder
« on: March 07, 2015, 09:21:28 AM »
I finally broke down and bought a decent audio recorder.  This call is my 1rst place in the 2 siders at Nashville this year.  I appreciate the listen! Ed

Ed, I am really impressed with the recoding.  Are any of the parts on the slate side?  Congratulation on a great recording. Mr. E

What kind of recorder did you get Ed?
I'd like to get a good one to record and test calls in the woods.

I bought a Tascam DR-07 MK II.  Apparently in the week since I ordered mine they have been discontinued.  I got this one because of the moveable mics, you can switch between A-B and X-Y configuration.  Tascam has one similar in price point and the same basic features but in a fixed A-B configuration called the DR-05.  Zoom brand has a few options in this category as well.  Both are great sound quality for the price.

You can hear the pause just before the purrs and soft yelps.  You can hear WHY it was a definite Winner.  Winner, Winner, Lot of Turkey Dinners with that combination of sounds.   *up*
