85 pounds of Cocobolo

I came across this piece at my favorite wood collectors store..85 pounds of cocobolo cut in the 1960's.. notice the axe marks where the sapwood was removed when it was hauled out....that was just under half of the log.....I put it to the band saw sunday...I found another piece in his shop that I'm going to clean and wax the whole piece about 8' long and just set it out in the house..I'm calling it art...well if the wife will let me ;D

Fantastic find. I read the other day that the Fed's were restricting the import of Cocobolo, that means the value of that log just went up.
