Artical on the Wild Turkey....
« on: November 23, 2014, 10:58:43 AM »
by the Washington Post. I had two reporters come out to film turkeys on my property. Jim Clay (Perfection Turkey Calls) and myself, each took a reporter out. Had a great time and even shot a big 9 point buck. Was a bit worried about shooting a deer with someone from the Post, but she was really comfortable with me shooting it. The lead photo was taken by me.

Great read! I am a Maryland resident and can remember hearing stories from the older crowd how trapping them was popular in the Green Ridge area. I don't know if fhis is true however I believe they did try to restock the population on the Eastern Shore with Osceola species since the habitat somewhat resembled that of Floridas.
I do remember visiting Dave's Sport Shop outside of Salisbury prior to him closing and always admiring the full strut gobbler he had mounted with an NWTF leg band.
This news story definatley shows conservation and hunting go hand in hand. Kudos to the the reporter.

I took this photo this past Wednesday. Too late for the Post to add, but a large flock none the less.

Bill,  Great story and photos.  Last year we saw a lone gobbler picking gravel inside the Omaha city limits.
