“To everything there is a season...”

I've been reminded of that as for the past several months as Doris and I have prepared for a major change in our lives. We have decided to move to South Carolina to be near our son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandsons.

For the past several years, we've made the trip to the Greenville area of South Carolina more and more often.

We all enjoy being together and maybe most importantly, our son and his family really wanted us to move. They've been trying to get us to do that for the past 5 or 6 years and we finally made the decision.

Southern Illinois has been our home for a very long time. The land we own has been in the family for 65 years and there are lots of memories tied to it.

I've hunted the fields and woods here for many decades and know it like the back of my hand. I have a shooting range 150 yards west of my shop and I could go on and on.

If however, we're going to really get to know our grandsons and they are going to really get to know us, we need and want to be closer to them. We also want to be of help to our son and his wife. They are busy folks and we know we can help them.

When the word got out that we intended to sell our home and land, it just happened. All the pieces fell into place very quickly and it's now all sold.

The wooded lands have been sold and that sale has closed. We are only awaiting the closing of the sale on the home and that's less than 2 weeks away.

We've purchased a new home in the Greenville area, close enough to our son's family to be able to visit them quickly but far enough away to give all of us privacy.

I'll be able to continue my work evaluating products and intend to continue my participation in still target shooting. I just won't have to drive so far now.

Since so many of you here seem like family to me, I just wanted you to know.

"To everything there is a season..."

Thanks,
Clark

Good luck Clark, wish you the best in your move.  I'm glad you get the chance to spend more time with the family.

You are moving a really fine area, been living close to Greenville all my life and you will be close to some fine hunting and fishing. I hope you like it here.

The tractor, the snow blade and one wagon left today. Another wagon left a week ago and some of the smaller tools have been given away over the last few weeks.

We picked-up a little over 80 lbs. of Hevi-Shot from the range with an industrial magnet a few days ago. Most of the range equipment is now gone, so it's winding down here.

Took care of insurance in SC today, so now it's just a matter of packing what's left and saying the goodbyes to friends here.

It's good to be able to talk about this here and I appreciate all the positive comments so many of you have made.

We're looking forward to our move and being in SC with our son and his family.

Doris and I have spent a lot of time there in the last 10 years or so and know we'll feel at home.

This moving is just hard work!

Thanks,
Clark

Thanks for all the kind words and words of encouragement. We're here in SC and unpacking more each day. We've been able to spend time with our son and his family and that is truly what it's all about.

Thanks again,
Clark

Congrats on the successful move. While the home and land in Illinois will forever be in your mind, there is nothing more important than a loving and caring family. I don't think it will be long before any doubts that you might have had will be gone. Besides, South Carolina is a tremendous state for hunting and fishing. Those grandkids will, I'm sure, enjoy the times spent with Grandpa in the woods and on the waters. Good luck.

Fred

We are so happy to be here. It was nice this afternoon to stop by and see our son and his family and make some plans to spend time together this weekend.

Family is so important and time goes by very quickly. We want to enjoy being with them and be of help anytime we can be.

Thanks,
Clark
