He was a great man and I am thankful for everything he did for me.  He was a leader in so many ways and contributed so much when it came to the wild turkey.     RIP Lovett,.....job well done!!

I learned so much from his audio tapes, books and articles. He was a true pioneer in the turkey world and will be missed. Prayers to his family from our family here at the roost. Rest in Peace and thanks for all you did for so many in this life! *prayer*

An email I received from our local Chapter.

I am sad to announce that the NWTF has lost one of its loved members and well respected turkey biologist, Lovett Williams. Lovett was instrumental in restoring the Osceola turkey population, and opening of the wildlife research center in Gainesville Fl.  He is best known for the numerous books he has published on wild turkeys, throughout the years. One would only wish, they could understand turkeys, the way Lovett did.

Lovetts memorial will be held Sunday (May 3) at 2:00 at Prairie Creek Lodge (outside of Gainesville). Click on link for directions.http://alachuaconservationtrust.org/index.php?/alachua_v2/pcl_map

In Lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Lovett Williams Conservation Fund. Donations may be mailed to Lovett's wife...

I am so sorry to hear this news. He sent me several books many years back and was instrumental in my early hunting days with his recordings.

Prayers to his family. God bless!
