Mouth call press
« on: April 25, 2014, 08:19:24 AM »
Been doing some research on them. Is Thad Bright the only person making these?  I would like to make some diaphragms, but just don't have the funds to pay $500 + for a press. Plus another $500 for a tape cutter.

Are you looking for a press or a jig? My son is also interested in making his own mouth calls so I am interested in this topic as well. I know Thad makes jigs, so I just messaged him on pricing for those. I could see the press if you were making thousands of calls but to just make some for hunting, I would think a jig would be all you would need. Here is a link to Thad's jig, http://www.customcalls.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1379164644/0

Dave, Did you get a price on the jig?  I know some people that have a similar jig and it is quick and easy to use.  PM me if you have a price.  Thanks! Bob

I had a small hand jig made and it is plenty adequate for stretching calls for yourself.. I believe Thad gets 250 but do not quote me, I think I gave 100... I know Scott McClemore was selling them for 150 a few years back but do not know if he sells them anymore, he goes by TrapperScott on most of the boards.
