Tennessee #3 with a Special Call
« on: April 06, 2014, 09:09:29 PM »
These Tennessee birds kicked my butt on Friday and Saturday after I missed a bird on Thursday morning. Birds have been henned up and just not gobbling after fly down at all. I headed back to the woods after lunch today expecting more of the same, but finally found a bird that wanted to play the game and be vocal. The whole hunt lasted maybe 30 minutes. He was a 2 year old with a really nice super thick beard.

I used a long box that I received unexpectedly in the mail the week after nationals from McKamey, and one of my slates. I have been meaning to post pics of this box call and I'm really glad I get to do it with a bird. I was speechless when this call showed up in the mail. Thanks again brother, it means so much to me. You are too kind.

Clint

what do they say---JELLY HEADED !!!!
Way to go Clint---know we've been experiencing a lot of the same with our checking in with each other. I am so prud ya took the call out for a try in the woods with your stuff. Nothing like seeing a call used and one that had a part in a successful hunt.
Had been working on the call for Clint--didn't have her ready yet  to take to him in Nashville, and darn glad I didn't yet, because I would have not been able to include a very IMPORTANT part in Clints callmaking history---the Callmaker of they Year award he earned. I knew as soon as I got home --it was time to get if finished and ADORNED with the PROPER cudo's for a great person and a great callmaker.
Congrats Clint on the awards and the gobbler. Thanks for having faith in the ole longbox and trying her on your birds---that's so rewarding to me my friend.
