The Sport We Love
« on: March 27, 2014, 07:58:36 AM »
It has been a crazy year for us in Southern Illinois. We've had record or near record cold temperatures here, more snow and ice than I ever remember and like almost everyone else, just about everywhere, we're sick of bad weather and ready to see some green grass and sunshine.

The spring season of the sport we love will be here soon, as it already is in the southern states and we can hardly wait. We need to be in the turkey woods and fields and hear the gobbles.

Doris and I are  as ready as we can be to get out there.

Best of luck to everyone this year.

Thanks,
Clark

You too Clark and welcome aboard.  PA winter has been tough but turkey's are more durable than people think.  Reports are promising and I need to take my shotgun for a walk in the spring woods!

I agree Clark... This has been a rough winter around here for sure. I also can't wait for some true Spring weather. Were only a little over 2 weeks out from our turn in the Turkey Woods. Good luck to you and Doris this Spring season. *cheers*

Hi Clark hope you and Doris have a great spring season and you both are well. Good to see you on the roost again. For your info. I had one of the new Long Beard shells blow the barrel on one of my turkey guns shooting a pattern target. Gun, shells etc. are now back at winchester olin for evaluation.

Clark, the birds are singing the turkey songs and the air is filled with the scent of gunpowder. Flowers are breaking ground and the temps are on the rise. Good luck to you and Doris !

Good luck to all, we have 32 more days before our season opens.  This will be my first year only hunting my home state, and no more. Saving all the time I can to turn in on my retirement.  *gobble* *gobble*
