Porter, I don't really know where to put this, so feel free to move it to another folder, but I thought it would be seen here by the folks interested in a project created to sustain the availability of African Blackwood. As a forester and call maker, and I think the rest of you call makers and call users as well would like to know that there is a sustainable supply of African Blackwood. I don't want to see AB put on an endangered list like some of our other woods have been.

http://www.blackwoodconservation.org/An ornamental turning organization that I'm a member of received this email from the ABCP about how we can shop at Amazon Smile and Amazon will donate a part of the purchase price to ABCP, painless giving. Here is the email:
Dear Friends:
Here at the ABCP, we last sent an email last fall announcing our yearly newsletter. Generally we only send out a notice once a year. However, an unusual opportunity has been afforded our organization,
We recently found out about a program through Amazon.com called Amazon Smile that donates a portion of a customer's purchase price to a non-profit charity. We checked it out and were able to successfully register the African Blackwood Conservation Project in the program. It works like this--the donation is 0.5% of the purchase amount and one can find exactly the same products and prices on Amazon Smile as on the traditional Amazon website. One just needs to access the Amazon Smile site through this link, http://smile.amazon.com/ch/74-2917289, and then agree to have Amazon Smile donate to the ABCP, based on your purchase amount. In the future you may use the Amazon Smile website any time you chose and further donations will come to the ABCP.
Today, we received an additional limited time promotional offer from Amazon Smile copied below, that will donate an extra $5 to the ABCP with any purchase, from now through March 31. So, if you are an Amazon shopper, we hope you will consider supporting ABCP with this rather painless method of donating to the project. Especially, now during the next week, any purchase you make will have the equivalent benefit to the ABCP as if you had made a $1000 purchase.
We appreciate your support if you are so inclined and apologize to those who are not interested for this mailing.
Best regards,
James Harris & Bette Stockbauer-Harris
