Kelly to Notre Dame

Personally, I think that he is making the same mistake at Rich Rodriquez.
He should at least stay and coach the bowl game.

He is a good coach but his work is cut out for him! I think ND may have jumped the gun. But, not many people would not jump at the opportunity to take a $3 million a year pay increase! I feel for the Cincinnati Players though.

There going to eat his lunch! They will give him two years and send him packing. Cincy's very over rated, wouldn't be 500 in SEC or Big 12! ND jumped to soon! Bad move on both parties!

I hope that they can make a good showing against Florida, but with a major change like head coach?

An idea I read on another forum was that the coach should have to sit out a year if they break their contracts, like the players have to sit out a year if they transfer schools.

Kelly is an arrogant A--! He has always been about himself! He jumped ship at Grandvalley State University to go to Central Michigan University. He broke his contract at CMU before a bowl game to take the Cincy job! Now he leaves Cincy before a bowl game to sign with N.D. HE DOES`NT CARE ABOUT ANYONE BUT HIMSELF! I hope he falls on his face and brings the golden dome to a lower level. N.D. sure has become a bottom feeder program!

i'm not disagreeing, but most coaches that leave a program, do so as early as possible.  they need to keep the commits they already have, go after other potential players and put their staff in place.  not to mention, if they are there early enough and actually coach the new team for the bowl, that is an additional month of evaluating and working with the current kids.  if you sit around and wait until after the bowls are over, you will more then likely have slim pickin's, in terms of bringing on a quality coordinator.  not to mention, that gives you less then a month before signing day.  i would say the majority of the coaches out there only care about themselves.  we are past the days of loyalty.  i don't think we will see another tenured coach like jo pa, bowden or beamer.  the universities are influenced too heavily by the boosters, to let a coach have several subpar years and let him continue coaching.  if beamer had gotten his start in present day times, he wouldn't have lasted 5 years.  it's a what have you done for me lately enviroment in college football.  if you don't make a change, you will get passed by every other school in your conference.

Our high school football coach knew Kelly when he was at Grandvalley State. He was the most arrogant, unprofessional coach he ever spoke to! He was hoping Kelly would take the N.D. job and hopefully choke! He deserves it for the way he handles recruits and their parents!  He is not a quality human and definitely not a good role model. College sports are blown way out of proportion! We are from Michigan and know the real coach Kelly!

I thought it was a done deal-guess not ND is smarter to look around. There looking a Uconn's coach (still not ND coach material) . ND need to land a big time name, they have the money to pay. Changing coaches every 3-4 years doesn't do the  program any good.

I can't stand Notre Dame, but if you take that job in December then you have no choice but to leave what ever your doing immediately and start recruiting. As much as I hate Notre Dame it is a premier job and is once in a lifetime chance. Having said all that, I hope Kelly flops, he is morally bankrupt. You would figure that a defense guy would be the smart hire here. Yes, I know he was a DC, but he's not the defensive brain trust I would want.

Both Kelley and ND are very classless.Do your deal but keep it huss huss till after the bowl game. To do that to "YOUR" team before a bowl game is inexcuseable.I wouldn't want him as my head coach
