I am getting ready to start scouting some new public areas in the coming weeks. I know there are some public land killers on here and I was kinda curious what the smallest sized property some of you guys hunt? I have always wondered this.

dcole the one we hunted in MO was 160 acres.

I've had one before that was less than 80..  I like much bigger areas though

Dylan, I use to hunt in NY above Waverly and it was a small piece of forest land about 700 acres. It wasn't to bad after the first weekend.  But the birds get pushed and the local residents around the area work em too.  They were very tough to get them to respond to calls.  Good luck and hope you find a good piece of public ground with little pressure.

I'm not asking for places to hunt just to clarify.

Good point the birds getting bumped off smaller places Bob.

Thanks EZ.

In 2010 and 2011 I took nice gobblers off this little and I mean little 10 acres woodlot...for some reason they love to roost in it.  The first bird I took off the southeast corner 5 minutes after flydown and the 2nd bird off the northwest corner 45 minutes after flydown, he was a little slo folloing some hens.
