Experiment with corian with video...
« on: March 12, 2014, 06:48:09 PM »
I  started clearing out some corian sink cutouts, and had an epiphany....surfaces and soundboards......
I made a few surfaces, and here are two of the pots that resulted....
Corian sounds pretty fair..not glass shrieky, and not slate soft, just kinda in between.  A nice round sound.
The walnut pot is an integrated wood soundboard,  something different for me... but has a really nice sound.
The curly maple pot has a metal soundboard, kinda raspy with a ringy tone.   Again, something different.
I will certainly be making more of these.

Thanks for the look

I will try to get a sound file or youtube up soon...but winter is NOT helping.

Speak softly, and carry a BIG stick...and if that doesn't work, get a LOUD one!
