Hudson Box
« on: March 07, 2014, 04:13:07 PM »
Got this box a few years back. Talked a good friend from PA out of it. He told Richard to make him a call that sounded good that wood choice didn't matter. Richard came up with this Jotoba over Crab Apple box.

I thought you would be bigger

Good looking box Job!! That's really the best way to be....build a box with turkey in it and not worry about what the wood combo is. Some times we put callmakers under undue stress by telling them what woods WE want. If it's turkey, it's turkey!!

I used that call one fall, its a great call...but I ended up with one of Richard's Padauk over Teak...they are all good! But I will NEVER part with my Mud-cured osage over Apple wood call from him...its going to the grave with me!  *up*

I remember after a buddy of mine killed a double one day when we went turkey doggin'...he said you want a good call for the money? I said "Yep"....Talk to this guy "Richard Hudson", and he gave me his number...he makes one of the best calls for the $$$. Who, I said??? Richard Hudson...never heard of him!  And we are all about good sounding  HUNTING calls for sure! As they say...proof is in the puddin'. Some calls are made to sit on a shelf...these are all for HUNTING!!! Made by a turkey hunter for turkey hunters.

We love the Hudson boxes up here in PA in the fall (or spring)...get u one, I assure you that you won't be disappointed...ALL 100% turkey!!!

The man in the picture has helped me a lot of the years. First off while I was going threw my divorce he talked to me everyday and tried to keep my spirits up. He also helped me with my turkey calling and about buying a quality call that sounds like a turkey. He also has busted on me more then any man alive.
In that picture is also the best turkey dog that I ever hunted with including my own and that's saying a lot. This dog just lives to hunt he goes full bore morning until night and finds birds just about every time out. Gage is that one special dog that you only get once in a life time
