Only have 3 Box Calls so far, What wood combos would u recommend?

I guess my favorite at the time is what has worked recently to call in a gobbler. I used these wood combos last spring to call birds to the gun and were taken by me or my son:

Mahogany/Zebra wood.... I called in two gobblers with this call last spring and killed them both in Kansas
Willow/Walnut....I called in a gobbler with this call last spring and my son killed it in Arkansas
Spanish Cedar/Sapele...I called in a double-bearded gobbler with this call last spring and killed it in Missouri

 Thanks for  clearing up what you meant Dave.. LOL  That one sider I played for you at that time is the one Josh won at Nationals with.. And, yea, I do have it!!    It'll be in my possession as long as I'm here on earth. Nice talkin' with ya earlier bud!

 Sorry for getting off track Bill... Here's my take on the different sounds of woods for box calls.. Honestly, from my experience, it's easier to build the sound someone is looking for by tuning it into the call rather than trying to pick a wood combo that makes that particular sound.  What I mean is just because two guys build a butternut/walnut call for instance, it don't mean they will sound alike.. One may be deeper sounding while the other is higher pitched... One may be raspy, the other clear.. So I don't think there's any magic wood combo that just automatically produces a certain tone and pitch.. It's more about how the call is tuned to sound. Hope this helps.

I absolutely love Alaskan yellow cedar with a walnut paddle. Close second is mahagony box with walnut, and right there with it is also a canarywood box with walnut paddle. Cant go wrong with walnut over anything
