Anybody out there hunt in Kentucky

Do you have to wear orange when hunting? and when does your calander year start and stop  If I buy a license for spring gobbler will it be good for the fall to. Here in Pa it's June

I hunt Ky... No Orange for turkeys... Not sure how an out of state tag works. I believe if you buy a annual hunting lic. It's good for 2 birds in the spring and 4 in the fall. Shadetree might know better as he hunt Ky with an out of state tag.

The licenses are good from spring gobbler all the way through deer season and fall turkey. $192 gets you a license and two spring gobbler tags. No orange requirements though it is a good idea when on the move. All day hunting allowed and i have taken a bunch in the afternoon in Ky, sometimes it is the best hunt of the day.

Thanks guys, Do you have to worry about snakes ?  if you hunt in the mountains here in Pa the rattlers are out if it's warm enough

Our calendar year runs from March 1- Feb 28.  So yes, they will work for spring and fall season

There are definately rattlers where i hunt but you wont see too many. But I always where my Rocky snakeboots in spring.

If you buy a KY license you can hunt on Fort Campbell Ky. It's about 50 miles outside of Nashville. You must have a post permit which is $50 for a cilivian. You can hunt Ft. Knox also, now the birds on Ft. Campbell are bonus birds. Limit is 4 spring gobblers and the Fall well I hate to say it but you won't shoot that many it's 2 per day. There are Timber rattlers in certain parts of the state.  Mainly the eastern parts in the mountains, and south central part of the state.  The more common snake to worry about is the copperhead.
