question on age estimate of this gob
« on: January 13, 2014, 09:10:25 AM »

Just wanted some opinions on the age of this bird,  he looks like he has some nice hooks,  also threw in a few nice bucks from Saturdays cam pull.  I am starting to be excited for spring.  Scoot

I don't know that you can accurately age a gob based on spur or beard length.  It's safe to say he is a good mature bird for sure, probably 3 or older but who knows exacts.---Jason

My guess is 4yo, he's one of the two old boys that hung around your place the last couple years, him and old 1 spurr. I know you had a pair of two year olds that you played hide and seek with, and an outhouse full of jakes. We may have to do a weekend hunt to thin a few of those old shoe leather birds out  *cheers*.
