Not sure where we are going or when right now but I will let you know when I find out. I am supposed to get up with Mike around Christmas. We have some friends that work for Buck bomb.  They are from Maryland but also hunt in SJ. We are planning a trip to Maryland and then up into NJ. He had told us we would be able to get tags over the counter after the draw. I hope that’s true. Thanks for the info and I will keep in touch.

Ok Bryan. The 3 Zones I mentioned are the Southern most in the state and also the best. Be sure to act on getting a leftover permit quick for any of those zones cause they sell out really quick. If you guys are coming and don't have a defined spot staked out let me know I woud be happy to halp point you to some spots.

If you are looking for a room at Opryland Hotel, the NWTF has put the screws to those of you who want a balcony w/ an interior view! Last year I paid $185.00 for my room....this year it will cost you $330.00! The NWTF has reserved those rooms and are charging a premium for them! This is the kind of  *poo* that hurts the members! Something, the BODs should not allow!

Steve

Sounds a bit, like price fixing! Which is possibly, against the law!

Even how they treat the callmakers. Now they went to charging more depending on the location of your booth.
REALLY have they forgotten why the average person comes to the Convention. Sure ain't for some turkey fryer or bean soup...............
Me I come to talk trash, tell lies, look at calls and most important see freinds.... Cause you surly ain't going to make much money beside most of the times I spend it before I leave anyways...When the wife isn't looking *peep*

Same old same old with the NWTF. I don't think this is anything that one man can do anything about. Until callmakers decide to boycott the Convention, it will always be this way.

Let me say this about Bryan Perry. He is the only guy I know that would stand up for the little guy as a board member. I'm not basing this on knowledge of any of the other members. I did notice, though, that of all the guys running for the board, Bryan is the only one not already a member or past member. I know for a fact that Bryan has and will look those guys in the eye and tell them that they are wrong on certain situations. If he sees something going on and does not like it, he does not sit on his hands. He stands up and has his say. He is straight forward and I believe he will listen to the members and convey their wishes to the "powers that be".

Just sayin'.

Fred

You nailed, the problem! The majority of those on the BOD are repeat members. With that kind of "good old boy" network, nothing will change!  ::) ::) ::)

I wander myself as to which way the NWTF is leaning, i joined and understood it to be for the wild turkey. I see the magazine and it looks like the "Field and Stream" or "Outdoor life", not knocking those magazines, but i joined the NWTF (Turkeys), if i joined Pheasants Forever - i would expect it to be about Phesants, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation - i would expect it to be about Elk, i had rather turkey hunt than to eat when i am hungry, so i joined the NWTF to be with others that shared the same obsession, but i can see even since i have joined there is alot of politics (poly - more than one, tic - blood sucking parasite; “There ain’t no ticks like poly-ticks. Bloodsuckers all.” —Davy Crockett)  in it and all we want to do is to hunt and perserve the wild turkey. You can see for yourself in the latest issue of TurkeyCountry, 120 or so pages, and how many actual pages that deal with the wild turkey???? It is a real shame where did the Turkey call magazine go.. and Turkey and Turkey Hunting. Just my .02 worth, opionins are like armpits everys got'em and all of them stink.
With this being said i am from NC and i believe Bryan would make for a good board member, but i am running into another snag. The voteing ballot states we must vote for 3 or the vote will not be counted. So i do not know the others, maybe some on here could enlighten me on which they may know of so that i could choose the other two needed.

Seems like it's getting like the NRA. A couple weeks ago, I got a 2014 calendar which is a good looking calendar. Now I'm getting a notice to donate because they sent me the calendar. IF I DID NOT REQUEST IT, DO NOT SEND THEN EXPECT ME TO PAY FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At the convention, it seems as if they are trying to weed out the little man! Remington, Benelli, Beretta, Bass Pro and many of the other big name companies are the ones they seem to be courting. I'm with Fred! I don't think people come to visit the Bass Pro or Remington booth. Like Richard said, I go to see friends that I only get to see once a year and to play calls first hand from the callmakers and to see things you won't see on a web-site somewhere. One of the things that gets my goat is how a bunch can come in, offer a hunt to be auctioned off and get a prime booth. Really and truely when I go, I expect to see things that pretain to the subject we are all suppose to be about. Not fortune tellers set up along side callmakers!!!

Bryan, from what some of these folks are saying about you, we need more like you.

Mark

Can you vote online or is it by mail in only? Plus I would also like more info. on the other folks.
