NWTF National Board Candidate NC President Bryan Perry
« on: October 27, 2013, 12:20:05 PM »
Fellow Members

I am the current North Carolina NWTF state chapter president.  I have been involved in the NWTF since the early 90’s and a NC state board member for the last eight. I have served as state president for the past four. I’m a pretty straight forward person so campaigning is not exactly my cup of tea. I was nominated for the NWTF national board ballot appearing in Turkey Country as we speak. Just like all the other candidates I would like to ask for your vote. This info is hardly enough for anyone to form an opinion of what type of person or leader I am. You can visit the North Carolina NWTF chapter Facebook page to see some of the comments from state presidents I have worked with over the years.  If you have questions feel free to shoot me an email or ask your friends in North Carolina about me. I came from the chapter system starting as a banquet attendee to my current volunteer position as NC state president. NWTF National board opportunities do not come along very often and low voting numbers in the election are shameful. I’m just to reach out to all the members I can.

Thanks for any help you or your NWTF friends can offer.

Some call makers you can ask about me would be.

Tony Quarino
Fred Cox
Tim Bullock
Eddie Wynne

Remember you have to vote for three candidates or the ballot will be voided and the ballot is postpaid so stick it in the mailbox once its completed.

Respectfully,
Bryan Perry
North Carolina NWTF State President
National Board Candidate

Guys, I've been a friend of Bryan Perry for several years now. I have personally been able to witness his work ethic and his goal centered devotion to our State Chapter of the NWTF. A no BS guy that stands up to the guys in Edgefield if warranted. He is a straight shooter and someone that I'm glad to call a friend. I urge each of you to give him your vote for National Board. You will not regret it.

I've been a life member since 1977. Witnessed all the good and bad over the years and have, like many, seen the NWTF forget everything that made them. I remain skeptical that one individual on the board will make a difference, at this stage of the game. Don't get me wrong, we have to restart some place, but I also believed that changing the people at the top was going to make a big difference....it hasn't. This is why folks aren't voting for board members....the "good old boys" are still scratching each others backs! If Bryan gets elected, I wish him the best and just may be, it will be the beginning of a new day.

Bryan, I wish you luck, the NWTF needs to change. What Bill states is true IMO as well. I support the original mission and vision. I hope we get back to it!

Bryan, Welcome to the Roost. I hope that you hang around.
I am a new member of the NWTF and mainly go to the convention to hangout with friends that I have met here on the forum.
Personally, I like to vote for people that I know or know their beliefs and policies.  I would have felt better if you had joined 6 months or a year ago.  Low voting numbers may because we don't know the people running.  Hang around, be a part of the Roost or one of the many other forums.  Let us get to know you and where you want to take the NWTF.  Then ask for my vote.

Thanks for the welcome.

I wish I had joined sooner also but unfortunately I didn’t know this forum existed until one of my call maker buddies told me about it. I will hang around

I’ll put it this way.

I agree that sometimes the NWTF is its own worst enemy. The one sure thing is if you don’t try to change things they surely will not change.  I know that sounds idealistic but I believe it. I don’t think there is a big secret about  when the turkey restoration was finished our organization floundered as if to say” well what do we do now”.

I believe the NWTF is back on the right course. Unfortunately change is slow and sometimes painful but there is no questioning about the value of the NWTF’s work in the past or what it can do in the future.  If anyone has a doubt about is there a need for the NWTF, remember turkeys returned in our lifetime so they could be gone in a life as well. Unfortunately or fortunately we are a victim of our own success.  The turkey restoration is done so the NWTF must change. I am not a good old boy type person so I will be on the National board for one reason and that’s to assure the direction of the NWTF stays true its mission. I am as big an advocate for the NWTF as you will ever meet but the idea I go along with something just because Edgefield said so is funny. There is no us or them in the NWTF. Just us! I support the work of the organization not a single state, person, administration or board. Thanks for letting me put in my two cents.

What I should have written in my first post is not vote for me but vote for someone.  I do however appreciate anyone taking time to be part of the conversation.

Thanks Fred

Bryan Perry

Dave and the Ohio Chapter are great people. Thank you for your support.

We are attempting to call all NWTF members in NC. I am amazed at how many members have no idea there is a ballot in the magazine.

Bryan,
I'm up in NJ and you have my vote. I have the pleasure of Hunting in Halifax County and it's my favorite place to spend time with the birds. I also know you do a great job for Team NWTF. Thank you.

First thanks very much for the kind words and your vote.

Second I hear NJ is the best kept turkey hunting secret in the nation. We are planning a trip to southern NJ this spring to hunt. I keep hearing how unbelievable the turkey hunting is. You are right Halifax county is a fantastic place to hunt and they also have one or two birds.

Hello Byran,
As a former Regional Director of the NWTF, I have seen many changes.  I have seen cooperate distance themselves further
and further from their grass roots and the people that have done all the work in the trenches.  Bill is correct in saying that
changes are needed.  I have been involved in the NWTF since 1995 and have held every office just like you have.  I am still
very active in all of my home states events.  I hope you can make a difference and I will support you in your attempt to join
the national board.  Please do not forget the volunteers who have and are still working for the greatest game bird of all, the
American Wild Turkey.  Good luck with your campaign.
