Oven Backstrap
« on: August 30, 2009, 01:03:05 PM »
I got this recipe from one of the members on another forum. Everytime I cook this I think it just cannot get any better than this. Deer backstrap, carrots, onions, potatoes, Lipton's onion soup mix, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and coke in an iron skillet for 3 to 4 hours in the oven covered with foil at 275 to 325 Degrees F. Waiting on my kids to get here to eat. Also made a cannister of homemade ice cream with an old fashion hand crank maker.

Everthing added to skillet

Finished cooking
