Tell us what you think?
« on: August 25, 2013, 09:56:48 PM »
Jon, Steve and myself are working to bring some changes to the forum. I know we have a suggestion page, but here's your chance to let us know what you would like to see or take away from the site. Nothing crazy please, but your input is important to us. A couple of things were looking at is... A new look... A new Home page to start, full of color that pops.  From there you would click on the forum page. We have already added the new general woodworking page and the sport talk page. Were looking into a callmaker's supplies page. People can post material's for sale to callmaker's. List contacts for materials and such. A reloading page might be handy for some?   Something We would like to see is for someone willing to take over the devotional's for the site. Mike "Bulldog" Mims started this and I know it would be important to him to see this continue. Adam is always welcome to contribute at any time, but it would be great to see and read something weekly or Bi-weekly. That's just a few ideas for now ... Wanting to hear from the membership on what they would like to see. Please post your suggestions here for now.

                    Thanks,  *cheers*

Maybe a section on instructional calling like Del's trumpet instruction (which was awesome and I learned a lot on that and changed my sound with a trumpet) or on tips on call making (box, mouth pot etc. )that are you tube type video. I realize that might be limited but sure worth while if call makers are willing to basic stuff versus secret stuff on call making.

The Tapatalk upgrade shouldn't be difficult to add to the site upgrade that is coming.  I believe that it is free for forums they only charge the user.  We can check on that.

Great ideas for a really great site!  I will 2nd the idea about a call making supplies section.  Calling tips and tricks would be cool too and not just how to run a call but little tricks with a call used in hunting (if those in the know will give them up ;)). I spend a good bit of time messing around with my shooters and something more diverse along the lines of shooting and guns, like a black powder forum,20 gauge, ect mite be something to think about.  It mite ruffle some feathers but a rifle is still legal in several states and IMO shouldn't be ignored.  Not to mimic other sites but making this one FULL service.  Just some thoughts.  I am sure you guys will succeed no matter the path you take. ;D

Wait....I'm an old guy stuck in a rut...what am I talking about change for....change is EVIL!!!! *peep*

First, what I know, not what I think is the 'new' moderators Jon & Brent are doing an OUTSTANDING job *up* *up*.  They are not watching and contributing to 2-3 threads, but MANY threads and regularly!!  The site is strong and has definitely become stronger due to their presence.  Can the site be better, sure it can, we can all improve, but for the most part the bones are there and IMO, this IS the best site to be involved with.

I support the callmaking supplies, or trading section for products.  I have used it on an another site and it works well.  I have to give this more thought, think I do have some other ideas.

The call makers supplies is a great idea. A place to buy and sell wood blanks, surfaces, guts, etc. I also like help CCO does their call section, a sub forum dedicated to each type of turkey call instead of posting them all in the same forum.

I would be inclined to disagree (for what it's worth) to separating calls into categories...but would prefer to see them left in the call makers bench section..box calls, pot calls, trumpets tubes, scratch boxes etc. Too many categories, sub categories, child boards, while I understand why this is done, it makes it more time consuming to open each section. As it is I think I miss a lot since I am not always able to spend as much time on a computer as I have in the past.
