Deer/Pig hunt
« on: July 30, 2013, 09:36:06 PM »
My son and I went on a deer and pig hunt for 5 days. We had a great time, saw alot of game and I was lucky enough to kill a pig. I snuck within  20 yards of a heard of pigs. There was a sow with piglets and several other hogs. I had to freeze for about 10 minutes before they finally moved so that I could get a shot at one of the Boars. He gave me a quartering away shot at 30 yards, Bingo. He shouldn't have done that. He only ran 20 yards before falling over dead. He was about 200 lbs. It was rough for this old fat man to drag this thing to the truck. I was only 1/4 mile away from the truck but over a ridge. I made it without assistance but was spent by the time I got it to the truck. These CA coastal mountains will make a grown man cry. Just got a text from my buddy who was staying until tomorrow and he killed a nice Buck. It was a good but expensive trip because my truck broke down on the way and I had to rent a truck. 1300 to fix the truck + 500 for the rental for 5 days makes for an expensive pig. It's only money.
