Last Monday evening, I got home and found a box that held a great little pot waiting on me. Its a Chestnut slate pot call from Bill Lyman(callmakerman) here on the Roost.
The call has a mid/older hen sound and let me say--its dead on as far as sound goes. Calls very soft with tone and will crank if needed. Its a great pot. The first one I have got from Bill, but will NOT be the last. I am impressed with the tone in this killa let me say.
I was set up to take my daughter the next morn(let her play hookie for half a day at school) so I decided it was time for a trial run with her. We had 2 gobblers hammering Bills pot on the roost, and when they hit the ground, they were in a race from 2 directions headed gobbeling straight for us.....UNTIL......., someone from a home construction sight 800 yds away decided to show off his new revolver to his biddie *wha*s.....6 shots in a row when all we needed was 5 more minutes till the gobblers arrived at our set up

. Needless to say, that ended out gobbeling activity for the morn.
Bill, the call has great tone all the way through it and I really like it. It is going to see plenty of woods time and will be calling ya soon to get a glass started also...thanks for the great call friend
