Public Land Question

WV, KY, OH, FL and VA.  Alot of the land we hunt here in WV is actually private corporations. They often provide permits to hunt/use the land for a nominal fee so it is just about like public land. Anyone and everyone has a permit. I think that some of the public lands actually get less hunting pressure in some areas.

Every bird I have taken in 25 years has come off land that is pressured and accessable to the public.  I have hunted in WV, PA, Oh., and NY.  Believe it or not, the majority of birds where I live and hunt most... hardly even gobble and that aint no bull.  The pressure is rediculous.  But hey, it makes for some rewarding hunts and helps drag out the season.---Jason

Before Ohio implemented our youth season which starts two days before regular season, i hunted state lands alot. Nowadays the youth season puts so much pressure on state land that i completely quit hunting there. I have taken stateland birds in Ohio, Ky ,In , and Missouri. One year in Ohio , i videoed a flock which contained 73 male birds with more than half of them in full strut. State land can provide hunting as good as any private land especially places like the Daniel Boone National Forest in Ky which is broken into many small parcels mixed alongside private property.

 Here in NY its all puplic land .I always hunt them when they have a fresh mind if you know
    what i mean .
