Public Land Question

Just curious, but how many of you have taken gobblers on public land? I know a couple guys that have travelled the country and killed birds on public land in nearly every state. To me that is really impressive. A guy that can consistently kill a gobbler on public land can kill a bird anywhere. Those birds are so pressured and so few in most places that they do not even act like turkeys I have hunted with outfitters or on large tracts of low pressured private property. Who has done it and in how many states and which ones?

Last year we took 5 longbeards on public land between my nephew, BigTom and myself.  The last 5 years my hunting has been mainly on public land.

I have taken gobblers on public land in 6 states. Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. List how many states and which ones you have killed public land gobblers in. Thanks....

NY and PA for me.

I haven't had the difficulties that I keep hearing from a bunch of folks. PL is hunted harder, but what is have found is that all the hunters w/ little experience, run around before the season calling and spooking birds. Then they come in and do it all over again, once the season comes in. After a couple weeks these guys wear down and the birds start to respond.

Almost all of my turkey hunting is done all public land, in and out of state.

I have taken public land gobblers in PA and NY my preference is private land at least early in the season.

I have taken several birds on public land here in KY. Preasured tough birds but that is why we hunt them...the challenge keeps me coming back.

 I've taken a public land grand slam and have killed public land birds in La, Ms, Fl, N.C., Tn, KS, S.D. but...I've hunted some clubs that are just as pressured and some worse though. The hardest turkeys are by far the most pressured turkeys. I also believe that states that have been open to turkey hunting longer are the most difficult ....
