Thank You Mr Permar
« on: March 29, 2013, 03:34:46 PM »
Got this 45 of Ralphs a few years ago.The call is African Blackwood with an Acrylic mouth piece. I just didn't play the call  much due to having a straight mouth piece.I don't feel as comfortable or consistent with a straight mouth piece.Talked to Mr Permar and he told me to send the call back and he would angle the mouth piece at no charge. Now that is customer service for you.
I thought you would be bigger

Ralph is a class act.  That was great of him to make that change.

Ralph is building a 1920 with desert ironwood and similar angled tip.  I'm like you Job, I think its easier to control the air flow with that design.  The Permar standard osage trumpet I have now has an angled tip and runs just so smooth.

Congrats on a great looking trumpet.

Ralph is ONE FINE GENTLEMAN and of the BEST in callmaking. I have the same caller you have and have slapped many a gobbler using that yelper. Mine has the straight mouthpiece tip.
Good Luck huntin,

I have never seen an angled mouthpiece like that.

What does that do?  Is it kind of liked the notched mouthpiece in some trumpets?

Does it allow more surface area to draw the air over so you get a raspier sound?
