Rain, rain and some more rain

I'm not sure how it is where everyone else is at, but we are getting rain constantly.  Farmers are not able to get their crops out of the field and this deer season could be real fun if it stays this wet. 

One shouldn't complain, but man I'm not sure I ever remember this much rain in October.  It's rained more than it hasn't!!!

It's been a beautiful fall though.

That is all we are getting in Michigan! Rain and more rain that soon will be drifts of snow!

We've had a lot more rain than normal here too... Like Phil said, It'll soon be snow!

... "no kiddin' " Mike - we got 6" in Sept, & another 3"; & still comin'; in Oct (it's rainin' right now as I peck on the keyboard) ...
This was my worst season ever for trying to get my place planted - the "spacing" & the amount of rain was really a nightmare for me - glad it's finally "all in the ground" & over with ...

Same here.  Good news is that the soybeans are still in the ground (good news for hunting that is).  The standing corn is going to be a big issue this year with deer sighting and movement.  Year before last the farmer across the street had just over 500 acres of corn standing until mid February not because of rain but some other issues he had.  We barely saw any deer at all and when he got the corn down, there were 50+ deer on the alfalfa fields in the evening where I hunt.  I have a feeling it will be a little worse this year with all the standing corn.

If it stops raining here, I will be on the stand in the morning. If not, then I will be making a couple longboxes and strikers!! So either way it is a win, win!!   Oh yeah, 3 weeks of vacation this year, and it rained each time,  maybe I shouldn't be taking vacations.

We may not have as many deer as the good ol' days but there sure are a lot more nicer bucks. The PGC did a great thing by imposing antler restrictions. I think we are starting to see a comeback, just wish they'd ease up on the doe tags a little bit.

what is the limit for you guys and how long does the season last?  are there designated doe day's, or can you shoot a doe anytime?

My son redeemed himself yesterday morning with a nice 7 pointer. Dropped him in his tracks with one of my .308s
Much better than opening morning when he wiffed on a doe THREE times!!!! Walking out of the woods I was gonna cut his shirt tail off, then looked at the shirt and asked him " Whose shirt are you wearing?". Little turd smiled as he looked me in the eyes and said "YOURS"
