Got glue?
« on: February 24, 2013, 10:03:32 PM »
Mesquite burl blow up, I should probably slow down. Been drinking to much coffee today!  ROTFLMBO

No respect should be given to a man who does not honor his word. He is just an adolescent who's acorns haven't dropped yet.

Those who stir the S**T pot should have to lick the spoon.

I wouldn't bother. I couldn't sell it to someone being fixed. I got 6 more blanks to try.  *up*

Man, that sucks. It is not a good feeling when a beautiful piece of wood comes apart.

Nope never would sell one that blew up but I hate wasting a pretty piece of wood. I glue some of those and finish them then they go on a shelf. Like I need more clutter around here  ::)

That one would be a good one to pressure cast in some clear colored Alumilite with the piece missing rather than tossing the piece all together.  That way you could really mix it up with that beautiful wood and some acrallic, all in one call.

Had a blackwood trumpet finished that was going in the mail the next day when I decided to but one more coat of wax and buff it ......Well the lanyard got caught in the buffing wheel on the lathe. There was not a salvagable piece on that finished call when I was dne with it.  The lanyard hangs in full view in my shop along with some other valuable lessons I learned along the way...
