Callmakers and woodburners BEWARE :)
« on: February 20, 2013, 06:12:08 AM »
Well I traveled down to Eminince MO yesterday to visit good ole Ferguson.  We had talked about me rolling out a call that I worked on for hunting.  I get down there and boy did he put me to work!  I'll admit I did not attempt any of the band saw or table saw work.  David did that for me, but I did drill out the middle, semi form the handle, and tune this baby.  I had a ton of fun and I'm afraid David's look on his face for my design was like... please do not become a call maker  *lol*

As you can see, I also have mad skills when it comes to wood burning!  I think a few more practice sessions and my art work will be there with the best of them...

Here's my work of art...  I named her CLUB...

In all honesty...  I think everyone is super safe with my lack of skills and designs.  I'm pretty sure my kid can woodburn better than me :(

It was a super fun day in the shop with David and this call might look bizarre... but it is turkey sounding and it will have marks (hopefully) carved into it for the dead birds it harvests!

Thanks David for a great day and the wonderful hospitality!

I notice David didnt allow him to be pictured with that 'OLD GUY" that Ed mentioned.
Mike----I know what that box must mean to you, and the fact that it was David that sat with ya and walked you through the process, makes it priceless. Congrats to you on a special call you will always cherrish. David---you are a fine gentleman !!!
