Crow Calls
« on: February 12, 2013, 10:30:13 AM »

Been looking for a new Crow Call, have heard some very good things about Darrell Gibsons calls.  Have only been able to find plain Walnut call, would like to have one out of some very nice domestic or exotic wood.  Does anyone know where they are sold or how to get in touch with Mr. Gibson to order one.

Thanks.   Roy.

Tim,   He was a great guy to talk to on the phone, he just had a few calls on hand, had just shipped several large orders.  He did have a Big Leaf Maple Screamer he had just finished and I snatched it up.  I really like the Exotics and the domestic burl type woods, he told me to give him some time and he would locate something I would be proud of.  Now how's that for customer service, I just told him to call me when it was ready. A true Gentleman of a person.

You may want to check out Michael Buckner and his sons. They keep winning the NWTF contest with their crow call. Here is an all Ivory crow call he made for me a couple years ago.

If you want a wooden mouthpiece, go with Buckner, Mincey, or Guthridge.  That being said, I've heard great things about Gibson.

Those mentioned are nice but Brian Stanley goes by sanatorium on some message boards and a guy goes by lone howl on some of the boards make excellent crows as well.

Lone Howl has a website called Varmits Inc.

Bill,   Thanks for the heads up, that's a seriously fine looking call.  I think I will check out Mr. Buckner and see what he has to offer.  You can never have enough Toys, you know.   Roy

Michael.  Won't be able to make it to Nashville this year, will give you a call next week.  Want a matched pair, 1- Crow, 1- Deer if possible.  Good luck at Nationals.
