That's exactly what I thought. It sounds more like a mouth call than a trumpet. Definately turkey.

He definately has his own style. It has to do with the notch in the bottom of the mouthpiece and he uses his tongue somehow when he draws air. It does sound a lot like a mouth call.

I ran that same trumpet minutes before we walked up to him, and I got the traditional calling sound out of it ,like most of us.

 He definetly sounds very good on it and his style of playing his call is very unique....but like MKW mentioned more like a mouth call....he sounds awesome...but, I can't help but wonder if anyone else can play his call like him... Thanks for posting that.

There was another call maker at the banquet. He made trumpets. He wanted a lanyard and did a trade with me. We walked out to the truck so he could pick out a lanyard. I had my Buices, MKW, and permar trumpets with me. I let him run them all. He could get rasp out of it like Farmer, but it didnt flow like Farmer. He was holding the call the same way Farmer did. He could purr on a trumpet though. I was i would have filmed that. My trumpet ought to be coming from him in another week or so. ill post it up along with his name.

I have heard him play in person and I have also played some of his calls.  They are very different to play than all others I have tried.  The man is good no doubt.  His style and sound is all in the lips and his notched mouth piece. ---Jason
