New to the Roost
« on: February 09, 2013, 10:40:22 AM »

Hey Guys,  RW Mackey here, new to the roost, thought I'd say hi and let you know a little about me. I found this site while searching for some quality Box Calls, ended up buying a few from some of the great call makers on this site.
Anyway, like all of you I have a great love for the wild Turkey, have hunted then in a number of states since 1986. I also love Traditional Bowhunting and try to combine the two as much as possible. Growing up and living in East Texas there are hardly any birds, so most of my hunting has been out of state or in the western part of Texas.
This year I plan to hunt Nebraska, early bow season and then down to Kansas for a little bow and gun hunting and hopefully get a chance to hunt western Texas later in the season.
I really like this site, thanks for having me.

RW Mackey

Thanks Jeff,  have already met a few on here that are very talented when it comes to making calls,  and have been great great people to deal with.  I guess most of us have way to many calls, guns, bows, decoys ect.....  Just the nature of the beast .  Wouldn't change a thing!!!  Hope to deal with many more.   Roy

Tim,  always interested in talking about Trad bows.  I've always been a Recurve guy myself, figured if it was good enough for Fred Bear it would work for me.  Now making your own bow, that would be the sweetest. Taking a big bird with your own call and bow would be the epitome of Turkey hunting, go for it.  Roy
