Some....
« on: February 09, 2013, 08:38:39 AM »
recent pick-ups through trades or from ebay. All these calls will hunt. I keep telling the wife I am building inventory for a call shop someday.

Alan Sentell Birdseye Maple convertible trumpet.

Matt McLain mud-cured Osage trumpet.

A Daybreak Shedua ceramic/glass and a Larry Gresser Zebrawood anodized aluminum/glass pot call.

A pair of short boxes made by Tim Bullock. A Redheart over mineral Poplar and a Canarywood over mineral Poplar.

No doubt.  How's that Gresser aluminum sound?

Blake,

The anodized aluminum call made By Larry Gresser is a fine sounding call. The surface grips the striker well and is easy running. All I have done is clean it with an aluminum pad. It will probably go to Mississippi with me next month hunting. I like it that much.

I'm a big fan of Gresser's pots and strikers.  Are his aluminum pots shallow?

Blake,

Here is the playing surface of the Gresser aluminum. It is not shallow. I am running it with a Gresser Osage and Colorwood strikers. I have close to 20 aluminum surface pot calls and I rate this one near the top of that list.
