#1 Pocket Turpin
« on: February 03, 2013, 05:48:03 PM »
About 3 months ago, I did a small turpin one sider for my good friend that I hunt with.  Here is the #1 Full Pocket Turpin that I am finishing up. It has the same size cavity as the Turpin short box, with shorter paddle and box.  The sound on this one is awesome and is has the full size call sound.  I attached a full size call here for comparison.  This one is in California Myrtle over Hawiian Toon.

Jeff, I love the sound of this wood.  Especially for the box.  It has a melow sound that is different from any wood that I have used.  Great tonal quality.  This one has a bite at the break on the right side that is all turkey.   I hope to have #2 ready for Nashville and for you to run.  It will be in Tiger Maple over Walnut, just like your Turpin.
