A letter to Dianne Feinstein from a Marine (copied from CNN)
« on: January 04, 2013, 12:04:47 PM »
Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government's right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma'am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.
I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

Respectfully Submitted,
Joshua Boston
Cpl, United States Marine Corps
2004-2012

Fine man for speaking out against the antigun people! Problem is that many people in out society are`nt brought up correctly! They are allowed to do their own thing as a child and when they do wrong the parents blame it on other people! I see this behavior everyday in the teaching profession!

This packs a much punch as the original post; however, I stongly agree with Daryl's post. These people seem to forget that they are elected SERVANTS to the people.

I for one DO NOT see the need for an assualt type weapon and 30 round mag in the private sector but I DO agree that if you wish to own one that is your right under our Constitution and FULLY support your right to exercise Your Rights under said Constitution. As an Ex-Servicemember they had better understand two key points:

1. I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

2. Under the UCMJ it is illegal to obey an UNLAWFUL order.  So as long as the Constitution Of the United States allow the freedom to Keep and Bear Arms under the Second Amendment even the President of the United States CAN NOT order a service member to violate the Constitution.

I sent this article to a few rooster friends the other day, but this seems like a good place and opportunity to post it for the group.  The article came from the Russian Pravda news and it is an interesting perspective on guns written by a Russian.  A Russian advising us on freedom - it just does not get much better!

Yep like strutnrut said everyone might see the need or a reason to own a military style weapon, I don't see the need for a car with 800 HP but other folks do. But your right to buy and own what you like should have nothing to do with what I buy or like. Just so you know I like the military type guns, always have even before they were considered "cool". If you haven't written to the people in Congress for your state or called their office you don't have a dog in the fight. Now isn't the time to stand aside and wish things better my friends it is time to be heard before it is too late. Most of your shotguns are on that ban list, too.
